We began our day with early morning waffles, saying goodbye to Albany and beginning a lovely drive further down the southern coast. Our first stop was the Valley of the Giants, a picturesque area of southern Australia famous for its red tingle trees, some more than 500 years old. For those who have visited California redwoods, these are similarly magnificent. Tingle trees are unique in this region as there is ample room for their root systems that spread horizontally rather than vertically, unlike other variants of eucalyptus trees in other parts of Australia. Unique to Valley of the Giants is the Tree Top Walk, a beautiful suspended walk more than 40 metres high. Everyone in the group enjoyed the suspended walk. On our way out, Singers ate an ice cream snack and sang for the park guides. There’s nothing better than a morning ice cream treat while on tour!

After the Valley of the Giants, we took a scenic drive to Margaret River, an area of Southern Australia famous for its vineyards and tourism. We passed many sheep and cows along the way, occasionally spotting a kangaroo in their midst. During our trip a favorite snack has been Tim Tams and popcorn, we enjoyed many on this ride. After a late lunch and souvenir shopping in Margaret River, we boarded the bus for Busselton, a short ride away. A few girls spotted kangaroo crossings and then kangaroos lounging in the field. Good fun.

We checked into a resort on the beach for the next two evenings, the Bay Geographe Resort. Girls enjoyed a swim in the heated pool, time on the beach and a buffet dinner of Indian food. PG and GSG singers are making the most of their time together, enjoying the natural wonders of Western Australia and major points of interest on the southern coast. We look forward to a singing school collaboration tomorrow!
