About the Tour:

Pennsylvania Girlchoir (PG) empowers girls to develop their unique voices as individuals and as musicians. Established in 2004, PG singers perform repertoire reflecting diverse musical traditions and cultures and focus on intergenerational singing communities and connecting singers with other youth around the world. Pennsylvania Girlchoir has toured internationally in Iceland, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Uruguay, Argentina, Spain, and Sweden. In 2018, PG joined partner choir Keystone State Boychoir on their first joint concert tour to South Africa.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2019, PG will embark with members of cousin choir Garden State Girlchoir on a two week concert tour of Western Australia on July 20, 2019. The girls will be hosted by families of St. Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School in Perth. Workshops and joint rehearsals will culminate in a grand concert at the Hale Performing Arts Center. Sightseeing highlights include a trip to Fremantle, enjoying King’s Park and the Swan River as well as Caversham Wildlife Park and Cohunu Koala Park.

The first week experience will be followed by a round trip to the south via Mount Barker, Albany, Walpole, Margaret River, Busselton, and Australind before returning to Perth. Workshops and performances with Mount Barker Community College, Georgiana Molloy Anglican school and Treendale Primary School are planned.
